What You Need to Know to vote in the November 8, 2022 General Election

The Santa Cruz County Elections Department is located at 701 Ocean St, Room 310, Santa Cruz. The office is open 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Phone 831-454-2060 for more information. 

Register to vote online at registertovote.ca.gov by October 24. You’ll need your California driver’s license or ID card, date of birth, and the last four digits of your social security number. You can request a Voter Registration Card be mailed to you by calling the Elections office at 831-454-2060. Visit votescount.com to apply for a vote-by-mail ballot.

September 29 – October 10: Voter Information Guides have been mailed to all registered voters.

October 10: Vote-by-Mail ballots have been mailed to all registered voters.

Aptos – Resurrection Church, 7600 Soquel Dr
Aptos – Polo Grounds, 2255 Huntington Dr
Aptos – Cabrillo College parking lot by football stadium, 3732 Cabrillo College Dr
Ben Lomond – Highlands Park, 8500 Highway 9
Boulder Creek – Boulder Creek Community Church, 12465 Hwy 9
Capitola – City Hall parking lot, 420 Capitola Ave
Capitola – Shopping Mall parking lot near entrance on Capitola Road 1855 41st Ave
Capitola – Public Library, 2005 Wharf Rd
Felton – Covered Bridge Park parking lot, Mt. Hermon/Graham Hill Rd
Los Gatos – Summit Store, 24197 Summit Rd
Santa Cruz – County Gov. Center parking lot directly in front of the County Building, 701 Ocean St
Santa Cruz – Parking lot 16 next to the Public Library, 212 Church St
Santa Cruz – UCSC Quarry Plaza: walk up
Scotts Valley – City Hall parking lot, 1 Civic Center Dr
Watsonville – Parking Lot 14, 316 Rodriguez St
Watsonville – County Health Center parking lot, 1430 Freedom Blvd
Watsonville – Corralitos Community Center parking lot, 35 Browns Valley Rd

You may also drop off your ballot inside at one of the locations below or authorize someone you trust to return it.

October 10: In Person Voting Locations are open:
Santa Cruz – Santa Cruz County Clerk/Elections, 701 Ocean St., Room 310
Watsonville – Watsonville City Clerk’s Office, 275 Main St., 4th Floor

October 24: Last day to register to vote in the general election.

October 25 to November 8: Same day voter registration – voters may register and vote a provisional ballot during the 14 days prior to the November 8 election.

October 29 to November 8: These additional polling locations will be open.

Santa Cruz – Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office, 5200 Soquel Ave
Scotts Valley – Scotts Valley Community Center, 360 Kings Village Rd

November 8: Election day polls open at 7:00 am and close at 8:00 pm.
